Basketball Recap: Poly Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Poly waltzed into their game on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They took their match with ease, bagging a 79-46 victory over the Grant Lancers. The Parrots pushed the score to 62-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lancers had little chance of recovering from.

Poly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was JD Wyatt out in front who posted 26 points. Wyatt's big performance that afternoon made it 33 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Quian Khawaja, who put up 18 points.

Despite the defeat, Grant saw an underclassman step up: freshman Harout Posheyan scored 11 points and seven rebounds. NOAH LETT was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Poly's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.6 points over those games. As for Grant, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season.

Poly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-48 win against Verdugo Hills on the 14th. As for Grant, they have also already played their next match, a 75-25 victory against Monroe on the 14th.
