Basketball Game Preview: Monroe Bearcats vs. Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks

The Monroe Bearcats will square off against the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Monroe's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Marysville-Pilchuck has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.

Last Friday, Monroe beat Stanwood 53-45. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Spartans are ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Marysville-Pilchuck had to suffer through a 78-38 loss at the hands of Marysville Getchell.

Marysville-Pilchuck's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.

Monroe strolled past Marysville-Pilchuck when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 65-48. Does Monroe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marysville-Pilchuck turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
