Kate Harrison and Jane Wallace did most of the damage at the plate: Harrison fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-5, while Wallace got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those three hits gave Harrison a new career-high. Ansley Elia was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Whitefish Bay lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Grafton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 11-0 to Slinger.
Whitefish Bay pushed their record up to 5-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Grafton's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Whitefish Bay has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Grafton, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Whitefish Bay keep running through batters, or will the Black Hawks buck the trend?
