Chase Rivera Has Career Rushing Day

Starting off the list is Peotone's Chase Rivera, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Rivera rushed for 300 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 117.1 rushing yards per game.

The win snapped Peotone's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record. Rivera's next matchup is against Lisle on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Alek Draper Turns in Season-Best Performance

Herscher now has a winning record of 4-3. Draper and Herscher will head out on the road to face off against Coal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

The second Peotone player making an appearance here is Tucker Cain, and for good reason. He rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Peotone is undefeated when Cain posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

On the season, Cain has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 65.6 rushing yards per game.

Tanner Jones Makes It Two for Herscher

Another Herscher player making an appearance on this list is Tanner Jones. He rushed for 64 yards.

Lisle's probably not too fond of Jones given he always seems to get the better of them. Jones threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns while completing 89.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 98 yards on only six carries the last time he and the Lions duked it out back in October of 2023.
