Football Game Preview: Lake Marion Gators vs. Barnwell Warhorses

For the first time this season, Lake Marion will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Barnwell Warhorses at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Marion will be strutting in after a win while Barnwell will be coming in after a defeat.

Lake Marion's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They strolled past Allendale-Fairfax with points to spare, taking the game 19-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Gators as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Barnwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 49-6 defeat at the hands of Silver Bluff. Surprisingly, this marked the Warhorses' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Barnwell's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lake Marion, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-4.

Lake Marion might still be hurting after the 38-16 defeat they got from Barnwell in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
