Preview: Monroe Hornets vs. Middletown Middies
The Monroe Hornets will play host again and welcome the Middletown Middies, where tip off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After soaring to 56 points the game before, Monroe were a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. The contest between Monroe and Madison wasn't particularly close, with Monroe falling 36-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Monroe has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-36, which was the final score in Middletown's tilt against Mason on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Middletown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while Mason is ranked 82nd).
Monroe's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Middletown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Monroe lost to Middletown at home by a decisive 66-52 margin in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Will Monroe have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
