The Grant Park Dragons will take on the Donovan Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grant Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Grant Park took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Iroquois West by a score of 6-3.

Cheyenne Hayes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Adelyn Karstensen was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Lola Malkowski was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.
Grant Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Iroquois West only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Donovan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Watseka, falling 16-1.
Chloe Ponton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
Grant Park's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Donovan, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Donovan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Grant Park has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Donovan, though, as they've only averaged .324. Will they be able to contain Grant Park's hitters?
Everything went Grant Park's way against Donovan when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Grant Park made off with a 13-7 win. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
