The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Mt. Pulaski nor Cornerstone Christian made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Hilltoppers never let the Cyclones get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Hilltoppers have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mt. Pulaski's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pulaski will square off against Meridian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.67 runs per game on average), something the Hilltoppers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will take on Ridgeview at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
