Basketball Game Preview: Eureka Springs Highlanders vs. Jasper Pirates

The Eureka Springs Highlanders will venture away from home to face off against the Jasper Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Eureka Springs has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with eight straight defeats, while Jasper will come in with 13 straight wins.

Last Tuesday, Eureka Springs came up short against Alpena and fell 53-42. That's two games in a row now that the Highlanders have lost by exactly 11 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jasper). They breezed past Deer to the tune of 101-55 on Tuesday. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Eureka Springs' loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Jasper, their victory bumped their record up to 25-2.

Eureka Springs was taken down by Jasper 74-44 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
