Softball Game Preview: Williamsport Millionaires vs. Mifflin County Huskies

The Williamsport Millionaires will venture away from home to square off against the Mifflin County Huskies at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Williamsport is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering State College just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 4-1 to the Little Lions. Millionaires fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Little Lions since on Friday.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Mifflin County's offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (14-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Williamsport's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Mifflin County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10-1.

Williamsport came out on top in a nail-biter against Mifflin County in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Millionaires since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
