Long Island Lutheran waltzed into their contest on Friday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They skirted past the John Marshall Justices 66-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crusaders have posted since February 9, 2024.

John Marshall's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Latrell Allmond, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points and four blocks. Allmond's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ladarius Givan, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Long Island Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for John Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 16-2.

Looking ahead, Long Island Lutheran will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Hill Academy at 8:00 p.m. on February 14th. Long Island Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Oak Hill Academy likes a good challenge. As for John Marshall, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-59 win against Bull City Prep National on the 8th.
