Softball Recap: Hockinson Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hudson's Bay

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hockinson). They were the clear victors by a 45-7 margin over the Hudson's Bay Eagles on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Maggie Ritton, who got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with five runs, six RBI, and two doubles. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March. Leeann Williams was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Hockinson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .535. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hockinson's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Hudson's Bay, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Coming up, Hockinson will be playing in front of their home fans against La Center at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hudson's Bay has already played their next game (against Ridgefield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
