Volleyball Recap: Nemaha Central Thunder vs. Perry-Lecompton Kaws

Nemaha Central was the 2-0 winner over Perry-Lecompton when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunder took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kaws on Tuesday. Thunder fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Kaws since Tuesday.

Nemaha Central was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 19 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19.

Emma Hermesch paced Nemaha Central's offense, picking up four kills. Hermesch got some help from Kennedy Carlson and her seven assists. Finally, Hermesch was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
