Basketball Game Preview: West Branch Bears vs. Pella Christian Eagles

After both having extra time off, the West Branch Bears and the Pella Christian Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. West Branch has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

West Branch is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against West Liberty by a score of 64-57 last Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Pella Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Grand View Christian, falling 82-49. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Thunder are ranked 13th).

West Branch's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Pella Christian, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-3.

West Branch came up short against Pella Christian in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-47. Can West Branch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
