Preview: Valdosta Wildcats vs. Westover Patriots

The Valdosta Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Westover Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valdosta will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Valdosta has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 33 points or more this season. They breezed by Cook at home to the tune of 66-33. Given Valdosta's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Cook is ranked 385th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Israel Jenrette, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Jenrette is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Westover lost to Dougherty on the road by a decisive 60-45 margin on Tuesday. Westover has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Westover had strong showings from Traveion Wheeler, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds, and Jalen Holmes, who scored 9 points. Anthony Milton was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 3 steals.

Valdosta's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Westover, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Valdosta hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 67.3 points per game. However, it's not like Westover struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 50 per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run up the score up higher Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
