Softball Game Preview: McDonald Blue Devils vs. Mogadore Wildcats

The McDonald Blue Devils will take on the Mogadore Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as McDonald comes in on eight and Mogadore on six.

McDonald is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over United.

Aubrey Evans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Gianna Mancini was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Miley Titus was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mogadore owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They blew past Lake Center Christian 7-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

Mogadore's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average this season. As for McDonald, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
