Volleyball Recap: Elko Indians vs. Dayton Dust Devils
Elko lost against Dayton back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Indians took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dust Devils. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
While Elko ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21, 27-29, 25-21.
Dayton was led to victory by ARACELI ACOSTA and ALISI TULIMAFUA-CURRAN. ACOSTA had 20 digs and three aces, while TULIMAFUA-CURRAN had 21 assists and 11 digs. ACOSTA is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Elko now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Dayton, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Elko is set to face off against their familiar foe Lowry at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Dayton will square off against rival Fernley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
