Soccer Game Preview: Rocktown vs. William Monroe

The Rocktown Raptors are taking a road trip to square off against the William Monroe Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Rocktown sitting on seven straight victories and William Monroe on three.

On Tuesday, Rocktown made easy work of East Rockingham and carried off a 10-2 win. It was an even better day for William Diaz as he scored four goals for his team.

Meanwhile, William Monroe kept a clean sheet against Rockbridge County on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over the Wildcats. Given William Monroe's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Rockbridge County are ranked 230th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

William Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 7-2-2. As for Rocktown, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1-1.
