Preview: Platte County Pirates vs. Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions
The Platte County Pirates and the Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Platte County pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 81-60 walloping at the hands of Fort Osage. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Platte County has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, Kansas City East Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 75 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Barstow by a score of 78-75. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Monday (56), Kansas City East Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jared Devine, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kevin Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Platte County and nudges their season record down to 9-8. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-9.
Platte County came up short against Kansas City East Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2016, falling 47-35. Can Platte County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
