RIPON, Calif. -
Ripon (Calif.) jumped out to an early lead against Ripon Christian (Ripon, Calif.) and never looked back on the way to a 56-26 victory on Saturday.
The Indians scored 13 points in the first quarter. Ripon scored on a touchdown run by
Michael Ysit, a Ysit touchdown run and a touchdown pass by
Lucas Bunting to
Bradley Clark.
After taking the lead on a Ysit touchdown run in the first quarter, RHS was up 27-22 at the half.
The Indians expanded their lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. Ripon scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Ysit.
Ripon's standout player in the win was Ysit. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
A 35-7 Ripon victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Ripon Christian defeated Elliot Christian 69-6 last week. With the win Ripon extended its winning streak to three games.
Ripon (3-0) goes up against Lathrop in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Ripon Christian (1-1) locks horns with Big Valley Christian also in a non-conference game.
