Football Recap: Chariho Chargers vs. Johnston Panthers

A victory for Chariho just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They lost 37-12 to the Johnston Panthers. One positive for the Chargers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Johnston had a senior duo take command as Matt Clements threw for 232 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes and James Estrada picked up 107 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Chariho is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Johnston, the win snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 1-3 record.

Chariho will head out to square off against Mt. Hope at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Hope will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Johnston, a feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers takes on Lincoln at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
