Volleyball Recap: Washburn Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Washburn hadn't done well against Hancock County recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Pirates were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Indians, so the Pirates were just returning the favor.

Washburn never let Hancock County on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-15, 25-23.

Washburn pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hancock County, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washburn will challenge Cosby at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hancock County, they will venture away from home to challenge Middlesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
