Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Halifax County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out George Washington 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for Halifax County as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Halifax County's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Martinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-2.
