Football Recap: Newton South Falls to Lexington in First Game of Season

Newton South had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a hard 42-27 fall against the Lexington Minutemen on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 28-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The victory got Lexington back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton South will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Brookline at 6:30 p.m. on the 19th. As for Lexington, they will square off against Acton-Boxborough at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th.
