Volleyball Recap: Carl Junction Comes Up Short

Carl Junction lost against Marshfield back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Bluejays. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Carl Junction started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-17, 25-12, 26-24.

Maddy Huffman paced Carl Junction's offense, picking up 19 kills. Huffman got some help from Jadyn Howard and her 39 assists. Huffman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Carl Junction's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Marshfield, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-7-1.

Carl Junction and Marshfield should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Bulldogs will take on Joplin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (108 vs. 274). Meanwhile, Marshfield (ranked 39th) will meet Lebanon (ranked 184th) at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
