Basketball Recap: Limon Extends Winning Streak to Four

Limon entered their tilt with Burlington on Saturday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Burlington Cougars by a score of 53-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Badgers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Limon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Scherrer, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Keagan Mellott, who had ten points and eight rebounds.

Limon was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burlington only posted six assists.

Despite the loss, Burlington still got an impressive performance from Adan Lopez-Mitchell, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 18 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Lopez-Mitchell a new career-high in points. Weston Schaal was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Limon pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points over those games. As for Burlington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Limon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-55 loss against Byers on the 14th. As for Burlington, they have also already played their next game, a 68-58 defeat against Stratton on the 13th.
