Softball Recap: Barnwell Comes Up Short

Barnwell made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Woodland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warhorses fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-5 loss on Friday.

Jaidyn Devore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Barnwell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Corley, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Barnwell's defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Woodland, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6.

As of now, neither Barnwell nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
