Softball Game Preview: Holy Name Green Wave vs. Twinsburg Tigers

The Holy Name Green Wave are taking a road trip to take on the Twinsburg Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Twinsburg took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Holy Name, who comes in off a win.

If Holy Name beats Twinsburg with 15 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Holy Name put the hurt on Normandy with a sharp 15-4 victory on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Green Wave have posted against the Invaders since May 1, 2019.

Reagan Vavro looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Ava Posa was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Layla Williams, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Twinsburg was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 8-2 to Madison.

Holy Name has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 15.0 runs this season. As for Twinsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
