Basketball Recap: Goldwater Takes a Loss

Goldwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Sierra Linda Bulldogs 46-12. Goldwater was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sierra Linda apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Sierra Linda's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mariana Mathis, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Mathis has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Aymee Medina, who put up 12 points.

Goldwater's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Sierra Linda, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

Goldwater didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-16 defeat against Combs on the 6th. Sierra Linda has also already played their next contest, a 36-17 win against San Luis on the 12th.
