Baseball Game Preview: Bemidji Lumberjacks vs. Denfeld Hunters

The Bemidji Lumberjacks will venture away from home to challenge the Denfeld Hunters at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bemidji 2, Denfeld 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Bemidji is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Grand Rapids just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 6-2 to the Thunderhawks.

Bemidji saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Lundquist, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Gunner Ganske also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Denfeld didn't have quite enough to beat Grand Rapids on Wednesday and fell 6-5. The Hunters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Denfeld's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Bemidji, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.
