Softball Recap: Brevard Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Brevard, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Patton Panthers by a score of 13-10 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

Emma Bailey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Claire Wilson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Ward, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Brevard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Brevard pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Patton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Brevard has already played their next game, a 12-7 defeat against Franklin on the 26th. As for Patton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brevard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
