Soccer Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short

If Douglas was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Cholla last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Douglas Bulldogs lost 4-0 to the Notre Dame Prep Saints on Tuesday. The shutout was out of character for the Bulldogs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 17-2. As for Notre Dame Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, Douglas will be playing in front of their home fans against Arcadia at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Douglas has won four straight at home, while Arcadia won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Notre Dame Prep, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Desert Vista on the 13th.
