Basketball Recap: Kermit Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Kermit and Brownfield squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Kermit had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Brownfield Cubs, falling 82-29. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1123rd, while the Cubs are ranked 275th).

Abel Muniz and Diego Juarez certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Muniz posted nine points, while Juarez had eight points.

Kermit's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Brownfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Kermit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brownfield, they will challenge Bushland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Brownfield has won seven straight at home, while Bushland won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
