A prime matchup of MaxPreps Texas Top 25 teams this week has Trinity (Euless) hosting Carroll (Southlake) Friday night at Pennington Field in Bedford.

The two programs represent eight state football championships since 2002, three by Trinity (currently No. 3 in the Texas Top 25) and five by Carroll (No. 15).

A season ago, Carroll ended Trinity's streak of consecutive district victories at 62 with a 10-6 victory at Dragon Stadium.



Despite being located only 12 miles apart, Trinity (7-0) and Carroll (5-1) were grouped in separate districts until being placed in District 7-6A last season.

Seth Green threw for 309 yards and five touchdowns in a 45-13 victory over Hebron. The Eagles extended their consecutive victory streak to 50, the longest ever by a Texas school in the top classification.

Kyle Porter rushed for 220 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-8 romp over Seven Lakes (Katy).

3. (3) Trinity (Euless) 7-0
Ja'Ron Wilson rushed for 246 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-17 rout of rival L.D. Bell (Hurst).

4. (4) Cedar Hill 6-0
Junior quarterback Avery Davis threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-18 triumph over Duncanville.

5. (6) Steele (Cibolo) 7-0
Bryson Denley rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns in a 55-0 blanking of Wagner (San Antonio).



6. (7) Westlake (Austin) 6-0
Sam Ehlinger threw for 297 yards and five touchdowns in a 58-19 throttling of Akins (Austin).

7. (12) Klein Collins (Spring) 6-0
Justin Pratt carried 26 times for 137 yards and a touchdown in a 24-19 victory over Westfield (Houston).

8. (8) Lake Travis (Austin) 6-0
Charlie Brewer fired four touchdown passes, two to Cade Green, in a 60-3 roasting of Anderson (Austin).

9. (9) The Woodlands 6-1
Carlos Ramos ran for a pair of touchdowns in a 28-0 victory over College Park (The Woodlands).

10. (5) Westfield (Houston) 5-1
Dillon Sterling-Cole ran for a touchdown and threw for another but it was not enough in a 24-19 loss to Klein Collins (Spring).

11. (10) Marcus (Flower Mound) 6-1
John Mayers kicked three field goals and Mitchell Cason threw for 180 yards and a touchdown in a 23-21 win over Plano West.



12. (11) Manvel 5-1
D'Eriq King threw for 274 yards and five touchdowns in a 49-31 triumph over Dawson (Pearland).

13. (13) Cedar Park 6-0
Jack Grimm ran for three touchdowns in a 51-14 leveling of Leander.

14. (14) Judson (Converse) 7-0
Julon Williams ran for two touchdowns and passed for another in a 34-7 win over New Braunfels.

15. (16) Carroll (Southlake) 5-1
Mason Holmes passed for 208 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-21 bashing of Richland (North Richland Hills).

16. (15) Pearland 7-0
Connor Blumrick passed for 276 yards and a touchdown in a 34-10 takedown of Alvin.

17. (17) Dickinson 6-0
Jordan Myers rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns and also caught a scoring pass in a 42-0 blanking of Clear Falls (League City).

Spencer Sanders accounted for 219 yards of offense and two touchdowns in a 21-14 defeat of Timber Creek (Keller).

19. (19) George Ranch (Richmond) 6-0
Darius Anderson rushed for 231 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-28 victory over rival Foster (Richmond).

20. (20) South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie) 6-1
Chase Napoleon got the scoring started with a 34-yard fumble return for a touchdown in a 38-6 victory over rival Grand Prairie.

21. (21) Lake Ridge (Mansfield) 6-0
Jett Duffey, a Texas Tech pledge, threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in a 49-24 win over Mansfield Timberview (Arlington).

22. (22) Guyer (Denton) 5-1
Myron Mason rushed for 136 yards and returned a kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown in a 50-20 triumph over Fossil Ridge (Keller).

23. (23) Reagan (San Antonio) 7-0
Kellen Mond threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-27 mauling of Madison (San Antonio).



24. (24) Cinco Ranch (Katy) 6-0
Russell Morrison threw for two touchdowns and ran for two in a 52-0 shutout of Tompkins (Katy).

25. (25) Cedar Ridge (Round Rock) 6-0
Garrett Sharp threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-9 victory over Pflugerville.
