Bethel barely beat Miami East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bees put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 14-5 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Bees brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Christian Barker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Anderson Mohler was a standout: he scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Gabe Veldman, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Bethel's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Miami East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Bethel will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Troy Christian at 5:00 p.m. As for Miami East, they will venture away from home to square off against Lehman Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
