Baseball Game Preview: Sunset Bison vs. South Oak Cliff Bears

The Sunset Bison will head out to face off against the South Oak Cliff Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Sunset has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, Sunset didn't have quite enough to beat Molina and fell 2-1.

Edwin Chavez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, South Oak Cliff entered their tilt with Hillcrest on Friday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Panthers.

South Oak Cliff saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was King Hatley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Sunset has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Oak Cliff, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sunset has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like South Oak Cliff struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
