Volleyball Recap: Mt. Healthy Triumphs

Mt. Healthy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Belmont Bison 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Fighting Owls as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

While Mt. Healthy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Belmont scored at least eight points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 24-26, 16-25, 15-8.

Connor Davis paced Mt. Healthy's offense, picking up 22 kills. Davis were helped by Ryan Walters and Jaylen Richards, who contributed 13 assists each. Walters was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Mt. Healthy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Belmont, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Healthy will challenge Fairfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Belmont, they will face off against Thurgood Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
