Volleyball Recap: Genoa Area Comes Up Short

Genoa Area lost against Otsego back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Comets lost 3-0 to the Knights. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Genoa Area was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Otsego's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-19.

Makenna Moritz paced Genoa Area's offense, picking up nine kills. Moritz really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight.

Genoa Area now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Otsego, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Genoa Area will venture away from home to take on Margaretta at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Otsego, they will take on Ottawa Hills at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
