Basketball Game Preview: McNair Mustangs vs. Greenforest Eagles

The McNair Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Greenforest Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McNair is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, McNair lost to Jasper County on the road by a 56-38 margin. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 224th).

Meanwhile, Greenforest was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Utopian Academy for the Arts 69-7. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 50 points per game.

McNair better keep an eye on Andela Mirkovic. She was instrumental in Greenforest's win, going 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 24 points. The dominant performance gave Mirkovic a new career-high in points. Marianah Achol was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 15 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Greenforest and bumps their season record up to 12-9. As for McNair, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
