Baseball Recap: Ribault Victorious

Ribault was handed a 15-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Northwestern Bulls 4-3.

Jaquarius Moore made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Moore wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Terlaius Griffin was another, earning one run and three stolen bases.

Ribault's record is now 5-7. As for Northwestern, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ribault will take on Englewood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.2 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Northwestern, they will head out on the road to take on ED White at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Commanders have averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season.
