After a string of three wins, Burr Oak's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to the Mendon Hornets at home by a 54-38 margin. The match marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Burr Oak saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braxton Boyles went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points in addition to six boards and six blocks. Boyles is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Camrin Hagen, who posted seven points.

Ryder Gorham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mendon, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine assists. Gorham's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Owen Gorham was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Burr Oak's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Mendon, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Burr Oak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-40 defeat against St. Philip Catholic Central on the 22nd. Mendon has also already played their next matchup, a 51-44 victory against Hillsdale Academy on the 18th.
