Soccer Game Preview: Frenship vs. Southlake Carroll

Frenship has won ten straight games at home, while Southlake Carroll has won ten straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. Frenship will welcome Southlake Carroll at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Frenship is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Montwood a 7-0 shutout. Given Frenship's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Montwood are ranked 287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Frenship's offense was hitting Montwood from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Zeta McDannels led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southlake Carroll). They blew past Mansfield Legacy 10-1 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Southlake Carroll with their most commanding win of the season.

Southlake Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those 14 games. Frenship's victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
