Burroughs hasn't had much luck against Oak Hills recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Burros will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. Burroughs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Burroughs turned things around against Hesperia on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Scorpions with a sharp 15-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Burros considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Isabella Farinha made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lorrain Gamble was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Reyna Bojorquez, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Burroughs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hesperia only posted an OBP of .190.
Meanwhile, Oak Hills unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Sultana by a score of 6-5.
CARSYN LEON was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, KAYLA CAZARES was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. AMAYA SIGALA was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Burroughs' victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Oak Hills, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Burroughs' speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Burros have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Oak Hills, though, as they've been averaging only 0.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Burroughs continue to outrun the ball?
