Baseball Recap: Castaic Finds Home Field Redemption Against Lancaster

There's no place like home for Castaic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Lancaster Eagles on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Coyotes have posted since March 26th.

Jayden Toscano was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Travis Van Ness was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Castaic's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lancaster, their record is now 12-15.

Castaic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lancaster, they are taking a road trip to face off against Burroughs at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Burros have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
