Baseball Recap: Madison Find Success

Madison barely beat Geneva the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Streaks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Blue Streaks have posted against the Eagles since May 8, 2015.

The team relied heavily on NathaN YarNell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Madison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Geneva only managed three hits.

The victory got Madison back to even at 2-2. As for Geneva, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Madison will have a chance to go back-to-back against Geneva: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
