Volleyball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Pickerington North

Pickerington North entered their tilt with Newark on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Wildcats 3-0. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

The final score came out to 25-5, 25-8, 25-16.

Pickerington North was led to victory by Gavin Venetta and Jordan Dyer. Venetta had 11 digs and one assist, while Dyer hit 83.3% for ten kills and eight aces and one block. Dyer is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had seven or more in each of the last 26 games he's played dating back to last season.

They weren't the only ones working in the hitting percentage department: Pickerington North couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 44.7% of their attack attempts. The last time their hitting percentage was this high was back in April of 2024.

Pickerington North's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Newark, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Newark will challenge West at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Pickerington North will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' matchup: after the Wildcats faces off against the Cowboys, they'll take on Pickerington North again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
