Football Recap: Levi Gibson and Malaki Mcneil Pace Crowley County Defense + How To Watch

Crowley County lost against Calhan back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chargers received a blow as they fell 42-28 to the Bulldogs. While the Chargers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 22-14 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Crowley County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Levi Gibson rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown. Gibson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.

Crowley County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gibson and Malaki McNeil. Gibson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Crowley County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Calhan, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Crowley County will challenge Haxtun at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Fightin' Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Calhan has already played their next game (against Swink), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
