Softball Game Preview: Gordonsville Tigers vs. Siegel Stars

The Gordonsville Tigers will challenge the Siegel Stars at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gordonsville has 13 straight victories, Siegel has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Gordonsville's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Smith County as they made off with a 16-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Camri Johnson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Herron, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Siegel didn't have quite enough to beat Riverdale on Thursday and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Stars have lost by just one run.

Siegel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Haile, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Mei-Li Karls was another, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Gordonsville's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Siegel, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.
