Softball Recap: Pleasanton Has No Trouble Against Carrizo Springs

Pleasanton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carrizo Springs, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pleasanton Eagles blew past the Carrizo Springs Wildcats 20-1 on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sayla Garris was incredible, scoring four runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Thalia Martinez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Pleasanton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Pleasanton's record is now 15-6-1. As for Carrizo Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Pleasanton will host John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasanton will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Carrizo Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Devine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Devine's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Carrizo Springs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
