Baseball Game Preview: Newton County Academy Generals vs. Sylva Bay Academy Saints

The Newton County Academy Generals will square off against the Sylva Bay Academy Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newton County Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Newton County Academy came up short against Sylva Bay Academy and fell 9-5.

For Sylva Bay Academy's part, Levi West was excellent, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs West has posted since back in March of 2024. Tripp Mcgee was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Sylva Bay Academy pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.2 hits in those games compared to only four in the others. As for Newton County Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
